Ce recueil de lettres serait rédigé par la femme d’un médecin britannique, au service du tsar. En fait il est probable que ce soit l’époux qui ait rédigé ces lettres en hommage à sa femme défunte. Elles évoquent notamment les monuments antiques du nord de la mer Noire intégré depuis peu à la Russie.
